Privacy Policy
Digital Distro is committed to protecting your privacy. As the Internet and associated technologies evolve, so will our policies. Please come back to this page frequently for the most up-to-date information.
PERSONAL INFORMATION - We collect only that personal information (name, address, email, etc.) that you voluntarily provide to us (e.g. by purchase). We use the personal information you provide to complete and service your purchase transactions. The same is true of the information you provide to us about gift recipients.
We do not sell or rent the contact information of our customers to other companies or organizations.
NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION - When you access the Digital Distro website, certain non-personal information (e.g., type of browser used, operating system used, number of visits, time spent on the site, etc.) May be collected automatically and used to help us monitor the effectiveness of our website and improve its content and performance.
With your permission, we may, from time to time, contact you (by email or mail) with special news or information from Digital Distro.
COOKIES - Digital Distro uses session cookies (a cookie is a small data file sent from our server to your browser and then back to our server again) to improve our site design and product selection by noting the pages you visit as you move through our site and by noting the site you visited immediately before clicking to Digital Distro.
CHILDREN - Digital Distro honors The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of April 21, 2000. Digital Distro does not knowingly collect information on any person under 18 years of age. We request that children under 18 do not provide information to us without the consent of a parent or guardian.
LINKS - When visiting Digital Distro, you may link to other websites. Digital Distro neither endorses nor is in any way responsible for the content or the privacy practices of other websites.
DISCLOSURE - Digital Distro may disclose your information if required by law or by judicial or competent government authorities, to establish or preserve a legal claim or defense, or to prevent fraud or other illegal activities.
Security
Digital Distro uses industry-standard Security protection to make sure that all of our customers are 100% secure from fraud and identity theft. There are several policies and techniques that we use to protect your personal information:
Secured Socket Layer (SSL) - SSL pages are encrypted to prevent prying eyes from viewing any information that is passed back and forth between our website and your browser. We use this technology on any pages that may contain sensitive information. Because of this, your browser may alert you that you are moving to or from a secured area. Do not be alarmed by these messages. They are simply making you aware that you will be moving to or from a location where potentially sensitive information can be viewed and/or changed.
Required Logins - As explained above, you will be required to login each time you wish to purchase items or post messages on our free services. We do this in order to protect your information from anyone that might gain access to your computer.
Automatic Logout - You will be automatically logged out after 15 minutes of idle time. This is to protect your information from being accessed when you step away from your computer. This does not, however, automatically clear your browser. We always recommend you close any browser windows that are currently displaying any sensitive information when you step away from your computer.
Of all the information that you may provide to us, credit card information is probably the most sensitive. Therefore, we take extra measures to secure the safety of your credit card information:
Encrypted Processing - All credit card transactions are transmitted safely and securely via a special link. There is no way for a hacker could steal your credit card information while in transit to the credit card processing center.
Database Encryption & Storage - Your credit card information is encrypted before it is stored in our database. So, even if our database were ever compromised, the credit card information contained in it would be useless. As an added precaution to the encryption, we routinely delete credit card information that has been stored for more than 60 days.
You will find that you will have to enter your credit card information each time you purchase anything from our store. This in not intended to be a hassle but rather to protect your sensitive credit card information as best as possible.
